TGC-145 Vacancy Details

The 30 vacancies are distributed across six core engineering streams. Candidates must note that only the streams listed in the official notification and their acceptable equivalent streams will be considered. Degrees in any other engineering discipline are not eligible.

The miscellaneous category includes streams such as Aeronautical, Avionics, Plastic Technology, Remote Sensing, Ballistics, Bio Medical, Food Technology, Agriculture, Metallurgical, Laser Technology, Bio Technology, Rubber Technology, Chemical, Transportation, Mining, Nuclear Technology, and Textile Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria for TGC-145

Nationality

A candidate must be either:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Candidates belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) must possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India. However, Gorkha subjects of Nepal are exempt from this requirement.

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess a BE/B.Tech or M.Sc in Computer Science in the notified engineering streams. Final year appearing candidates can also apply, provided their final year/final semester exam result will be declared by 01 July 2027. Those whose results are declared after this date are not eligible.

Final year candidates will be required to submit proof of passing the Engineering Degree Examination along with marksheets of all semesters/years by 01 July 2027 to TGC Entry, West Block III, R.K. Puram, New Delhi-110066. They must also produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at IMA.

Candidates with engineering degrees from foreign countries are not eligible to apply.

Candidates must carry self-attested copies along with originals of the following documents to the Selection Centre:

• Matriculation/Secondary School Examination certificate or equivalent certificate and marksheet
• 12th class marksheet and certificate or equivalent certificate/Diploma marksheet and certificate (for diploma holders)
• Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by a recognised university (Provisional Degree should not be more than six months old at the time of joining the Academy)

Note: DIGILOCKER certificates will not be accepted in lieu of original certificates. If any school/college does not issue certificates in hard copy, a certificate must be obtained from the institution stating that only e-certificates are issued, and a colour printout of the e-certificate duly authenticated must be produced.

Before joining the training academy, candidates must meet the following minimum physical standards:

The selection process involves shortlisting of applications based on the vacancy-to-call-up ratio for each engineering stream. A cut-off will be applied in each stream based on the cumulative percentage of marks obtained by candidates up to the final semester/year.

Shortlisted candidates will be called to one of the Selection Centres at Prayagraj (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bengaluru (Karnataka), or Jalandhar (Punjab) for the Service Selection Board (SSB) interview. Candidates will have to log in to the website and select their SSB dates and centres on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once selected, the SSB centre and date cannot be changed.

The SSB interview involves a two-stage selection procedure:

• Stage 1: Candidates who clear this stage proceed to Stage 2.
• Stage 2: Those who qualify undergo a medical examination.

The duration of the SSB interview is a maximum of five days. Candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit will be issued joining letters for training in the order of merit, subject to availability of vacancies and meeting all eligibility criteria.

Medical Examination: Candidates who have undergone an SSB medical (SMB/AMB/RMB) for the Army and were declared ‘Med FIT’ need not undergo medical examination again after the TGC-145 SSB, provided the medical date is within 270 days of joining the course on 01 July 2027. Candidates already undergoing training in any Army PCTA need not undergo fresh medicals even if the gap exceeds 270 days.

Training and Commission

Selected candidates will undergo training at the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, for approximately 12 months. The entire cost of training is borne by the Government.

On successful completion of training, cadets will be granted a Permanent Commission in the Army in the rank of Lieutenant. Engineering graduates of TGC Entry will also receive one year ante-date seniority from the date of commission for the purpose of seniority, promotion, and increment of pay.

Marriage During Training: Candidates are not allowed to marry during the training period. If a candidate marries while under training, he will be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred by the government. A candidate who marries after the date of application, even if successful at the SSB and medical examination, will not be inducted for training.

Pay and Allowances

During training, Officer Cadets will receive a fixed stipend of ₹56,100 per month (starting pay in Level 10 of the Pay Matrix). On successful commissioning, the pay will be fixed in the first cell of Level 10.

Officers are also entitled to Military Service Pay (MSP) of ₹15,500 per month, Dearness Allowance, and various other allowances including Field Area Allowances, Technical Allowance, Dress Allowance, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, and Hostel Subsidy, subject to eligibility conditions.
