Students and parents should therefore check the application carefully before final submission. NVS has stated that the information entered online will be treated as final, and requests for modification in particulars will not be entertained after the permitted correction period.

Documents Required After Selection

Provisionally selected candidates will need to produce original documents for verification. These include:

  • Birth certificate
  • Documents supporting eligibility
  • Rural-area certificate, where applicable
  • Valid residence proof
  • Candidate’s Aadhaar Card

Candidates applying under the rural quota will need a certificate from the competent District Administration authority confirming that their Class 8 school was located in a rural area.

Rural and Urban Quota

A candidate studying Class 8 in a school located in a rural area will be considered a rural candidate and will be considered under the open and rural quota.

A candidate who studied Class 8 in an urban-area school even for a single day during the session will be treated as an urban candidate.

Reservation and Vacant Seats

Existing vacant seats under SC, ST, OBC and Divyang categories are reserved according to the applicable NVS rules. OBC reservation is based on the Central List; candidates whose caste is not included in the Central List are required to apply as General candidates.

The prospectus includes the tentative district-wise vacancy position in Annexure-II. Since these vacancies are provisional, they may increase or decrease. Selection therefore does not automatically guarantee admission.
