RRB Isolated Category Recruitment 2026: Post-Wise Details

Under CEN 09/2026, the Railway Recruitment Boards have announced 191 vacancies across seven different posts. Junior Translator (Hindi) has the highest number of vacancies, with 79 positions.

RRB Isolated Category Recruitment 2026 Age Limit

Educational Qualification for RRB Isolated Category Recruitment 2026

The educational qualification differs according to the post. Candidates must possess the required qualification from a recognised university, institution or board on or before the closing date of the online application.

The post-wise qualification requirements are as follows:

1. Chief Law Assistant

• University Degree in Law.
• Three years of standing practice as a Pleader at the Bar.
• Serving Railway employees who are Law Graduates may also apply if they have completed at least five years of service in any branch of Railway Administration.

2. Public Prosecutor

• Graduate degree in Law from a recognised university.
• Five years of standing as an Advocate at the Bar.

3. Senior Publicity Inspector

• Degree from a recognised university.
• Diploma in Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism or Mass Communication from a recognised institution or university.
• Two years of experience in related fields is desirable.

4. Junior Translator (Hindi)

Candidates must fulfil the prescribed postgraduate qualification in Hindi or English, including one of the combinations specified in the notification.

• Two years of translation work experience in Hindi and English in Central or State Government offices, including Government of India undertakings.

5. Staff and Welfare Inspector

• Diploma in Labour Laws.
• LLB with papers in Labour Laws.
• PG Diploma in Personnel Management.
• MBA with papers in Personnel Management.
• MBA/HR.
• PG Diploma in Human Resource Management with relevant Personnel Management papers from a recognised institution.

6. Scientific Assistant (Training)

• Master’s Degree in Psychology.
• Minimum 50% marks in aggregate.

Desirable qualifications include specialisation in Industrial, Organisational or Clinical Psychology, experience in counselling or guidance programmes, and working knowledge of computers.

7. Lab Assistant Grade III (Chemist & Metallurgist)

• 12th (+2 Stage) or equivalent qualification.
• Science stream with Physics and Chemistry as subjects.

RRB Isolated Category Selection Process 2026

The recruitment process will involve the following stages:

1. Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT).
2. Translation Test (where applicable).
3. Document Verification (DV).
4. Medical Examination.

Candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance and merit in the applicable selection stages. Junior Translator (Hindi) candidates must also qualify in the Translation Test.

RRB CBT Exam Pattern 2026

For posts other than Junior Translator (Hindi), the notification provides the following indicative examination pattern:

• Examination Duration: 90 Minutes.
• Total Questions: 100.
• Total Marks: 100.

• Negative Marking: 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer.
