Departmental candidates who have rendered at least three years of continuous service under the Central Government are eligible up to 40 years (UR/EWS/OBC) and up to 45 years (SC/ST), subject to the prescribed conditions.

Educational Qualification
Candidates must have passed Matriculation (Class 10) or its equivalent from a recognised board.
Sports Qualification
Only those sportspersons who have participated or won a medal in the competitions listed below, during the period from 1 January 2024 to 1 November 2026, will be considered:
- International competitions cleared by the Department of Sports, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports
- National level – representing a State/UT in Senior or Junior National Championships organised by recognised National Sports Federations, or National Games organised by the Indian Olympic Association
- Inter-University competitions conducted by the Association of Indian Universities / Inter University Sports Board
- Khelo India University Games, Khelo India Youth Games (age category above 18 years) and Khelo India Winter Games
In team events as well as individual events, candidates must have won a medal or secured a position up to third place in the finals, as applicable.

Chest relaxation is also available for ST candidates (76–81 cm), Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates from Assam, HP, J&K and Ladakh (78–83 cm), and North Eastern States and GTA candidates (77–82 cm). Candidates claiming relaxation must submit the prescribed certificate (Annexure-VI); without it, the claim will not be entertained.
Candidates must also meet the prescribed medical standards, including minimum distance vision of 6/6 and 6/9 for both eyes without correction. Colour-blind candidates are not eligible. Knock knees, flat feet, varicose veins and squint in eyes are disqualifying conditions. Tattoos are permitted only at specified locations and must be smaller than one-fourth of the particular body part.
Selection Process : ITBP Constable (Sports Quota) Recruitment 2026

- Physical Standard Test (PST) – height, chest and weight measurement
- Sports Trial Test – 40 marks, qualifying in nature, minimum 20 marks required

The Sports Trial Test will be exempted for candidates who have represented India as a member of the Indian squad in any international sports event with the clearance of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports. The minimum qualifying mark in the documentation stage is 10 for all categories.
The final merit list will be drawn on the basis of marks obtained for sports achievements. Tie-breaking will be done first on the basis of higher achievement in international competition, then national competition, followed by younger age and finally alphabetical order of names.

Only the highest medal or level of participation earned during the two-year window will be considered. If a candidate has won more than one medal in the same competition, marks will be awarded for the highest medal only. The minimum qualifying marks are 10 for all categories.
